A processing fee must normally be paid when a foreign national applies for a residence permit in the following case types:
Work, studies, au pair, interns, accompanying family member of a person working or studying in Denmark.

A fee must also be paid when submitting an application for an extension of a residence permit or a permanent residence permit, or when submitting an appeal or request to reopen a case in the above-mentioned case types.

Processing fees are regulated on 1 January 2015

If you plan to apply for a residence permit or an extension of a residence permit based on work or studies around 1 January 2015, please note that processing fees are regulated on 1 January 2015.

If you wish to apply before the fees are regulated, you must both pay the fee and submit your application before 1 January 2015. In other words, it is the date on which you submit your application to the Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment, to the Danish police, or at a Danish diplomatic mission, which decides the amount of the fee.

If you pay the fee before 1 January 2015, but submit your application after 1 January 2015, you will have paid less than the required fee, and consequently, your application may be rejected, that is, it will not be processed. It is not possible to create a Case Order ID with the 2015 fee prior to 1 January 2015.

The processing fees for applying for a residence permit are regulated every year on 1 January.

Case types which do not warrant a fee

There is no fee for submitting an application for a residence permit in the following case types: Family reunification, asylum, residence permit on humanitarian grounds, residence permit as a non-deportable person, accompanying family member of a religious worker. Likewise, there is no fee for submitting an application for an extension of one of these case types or for a permanent residence permit, or when submitting an appeal or a request for a case to be re-opened in one of these case types.
